A nice route even for a day trip

The route from Rotuaar to Talvikanka runs along the beautiful shores of the Oulu River in Myllytull and especially Värtö to Erkkolansill, from where it continues via Haapalehdo and Rannanperä to Talvikanka. Apart from short sections of Rannanperä, which are well suited to cycling and walking, the route is a combined cycle path and pavement throughout. The route includes the Art Museum, Koskenniska and Värtö beach.

The route from Rotuaari runs along the Pakkahuone cycle path to the railway station and from there to Raksila. From Raksila, the route continues via Kajaanintie and Torpantien to the Poikkimaantien bridge over the Oulu River, from where it continues to the centre of Hiukkavaara. On Kajaanintie, pedestrians and cyclists are separated and on Torpantiti, the route is along a well-suited street for cycling and walking. 

The rest of the route consists of a combined cycle path and pavement. The route includes the railway station, the Raksila markets, the city hospital and the university hospital.
